Monroe County Animal Hospital is a full service animal hospital, operating from their 7200 sq.ft. Sweetwater facility, custom built in 2000. From routine vaccinations and surgeries such as spays and neuters, to unexpected emergencies and acute care requiring x-rays or an isolation area, the team of four veterinarians, qualified veterinary technicians, and well-trained staff can meet your pet's needs. Pet dentistry, wound care, post-operative care, and proper handling during exams and treatments all contribute to the compassionate pet care that Monroe County Animal Hospital has built its reputation around.

The hospital is equipped with multiple examination rooms, a triage area and surgery room, an x-ray room with an ultrasound machine, and a lab area for in-house blood work. There is an on-site pharmacy for pet prescriptions, and a large selection of over-the-counter pet products. Choose from the latest flea and tick preventatives to everyday vitamins to collars and leashes (guaranteed even if chewed). A large selection of Hills prescription pet food, Science Diet for dogs and cats, yummy treats, and pet toys are sold too.
For larger pets, the Sweetwater facility has a 1200 sq.ft. barn on the premises, equipped with head chutes and holding pens. Planning a trip? Let your pet stay with us. We have a variety of different size cages and kennels, inside and out, for your canine companion. We also have a fenced area for him or her to run and exercise. For precious lap cats, we have a separate boarding room, with a variety of cages. |

Time for a bath? Let your pet be the only one getting wet. The hospital's professional groomer has a well established list of happy customers. For those in-between professional visits, she offers many shampoo products and "smell good" groom sprays.
Monroe County Animal Hospital's veterinarians generously give back to the community, discounting fees for services to the local spay/neuter program SNAP (423-442-8559), and to the Monroe County Animal Shelter friendsofanimalsmc.org in Madisonville. The practice's vets are among 1st Responders to Agricultural Disasters for TN Department of Agriculture/TEMA, and also work cooperatively with Midland Pet Emergency Center, Inc., in Alcoa for evening, holiday, and weekend pet emergencies. Whether it's your pet's first veterinary visit or many visits down the road as we watch him or her grow, Monroe County Animal Hospital is here every step of the way, to give you confidence and guidance in caring for your pet, and to deliver the proper care your furry friend deserves. |
